Here are some of our favorite recipes:
Classic: Peanuts, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, cinnamon.
Cajun: Cashews, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne powder.
Asian: Wasabi peas, chestnuts, dried ginger, dried edamame, sesame seeds, puffed rice, and goji berries.
Tropical: Dried mango, shredded coconut, macadamia nuts, almonds, dried pineapple, and banana chips.
Antioxidants: Peanuts, almonds, dried cranberries, raisins, dried blueberries, dried cherries, and flax seeds.
PB&J: Peanuts, dried strawberries, and puffed rice.
Coffeehouse: Hazelnuts, almonds, instant coffee, shredded coconut, and raisins.
When adding the spices, such as instant coffee or cinnamon, be sure to add very little at a time. The goal is to have just a dusting in your trail mix.
Be creative with your mixes! You can decide how much of every ingredient to put in. You might love to have more wasabi peas in the Asian trail mix, while someone else might prefer more goji berries. Celebrate this day with your favorite mix!
